The Sen Gupta Laboratory (or BEAT Lab) studies disease mechanisms in hemostasis, thrombosis, inflammation, and cancer to develop targeted bio-inspired therapeutic and diagnostic technologies.

Our research encompasses mechanistic understanding of biological and pathological processes across cellular, sub-cellular, and biomolecular scales, and use that knowledge to develop bio-inspired therapeutic and diagnostic technologies. Our laboratory is particularly interested in cardiovascular disease, thrombosis, inflammation, immune response, and cancer metastasis. By integrating biochemical targeting strategies with tunable biomaterial properties such as shape, size, charge, and morphology, we create customizable and translatable platforms for disease-targeted therapy.
